*** 2024 EVENT REGISTRATION IS OPEN ***

TRY THE TRACK

TRY THE TRACK ON YOUR STREET BIKE!

LIMITED TO 10 PARTICIPANTS FOR EACH DATE - SO SIGN UP EARLY!

This is our program to give interested street riders a chance to "sample" the track experience before fully committing to take the "School of Speed" new track rider's school.

WHEN:
Try the Track is offered at ALL SUNDAY TrackAddix track days at MPH.

** NOTE: We will NOT operate the Try-The-Track sessions in the rain. If you are signed up, and the track is wet at Noon, we will cancel the session and anyone registered will have the option of a refund or moving their registration to an alternate date.

TIME:
Check-in at the TrackAddix pit area by NOON on Sunday. A safety briefing will take place at 12:15 p.m., with your first on-track guided session at 12:45 p.m.  There will be a lunch break at 1:00 p.m. and then the final guided session on-track at 1:30 p.m., following by a de-briefing chat at 1:45 p.m.

WHO:
Street riders with no track experience who want to get a feel for what it's like to have their motorcycle on the track.

BIKE REQUIREMENTS:
Any street bike with reasonable ground clearance for track lean angles. Cruisers with floor boards are not allowed due to lack of clearance, as well as any other motorcycle that looks like it would drag parts around the corners. Motorcycle must be in good and clean condition with over 50% tread life on tires, with a proper functioning (SELF-CLOSING) throttle, and properly maintained braking system.

RIDER REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum rider age 16 years old with valid motorcycle license and parent/guardian present to sign insurance waiver, 19 years old for solo riders. Street riding gear is acceptable, including full face or modular helmet (no 1/2 or 3/4 helmets), over-the-ankle boots (no tennis shoes), gloves, motorcycle jacket (must be a JACKET and not a long-sleeve shirt), and full-length pants (jeans are acceptable, no shorts).

WHY? I ride in shorts all the time. I ride with just a t-shirt and vest. If I can ride on the street with that gear, why not on the track?
ANSWER: The track environment is about high performance riding and experiencing motorcycle dynamics in an elevated manner compared to street riding. Wearing proper riding gear for "sport" riding on a motorcycle is a demonstration of understanding on your part that you "get it". The idea is to experience what it's like in this "intro" session with an eye toward taking the full "School of Speed" after that if you find that it's thrilling and you want to do more of it.

COST:
It's essentially FREE if you end up taking the full "School of Speed" rider's school, as you pay a $50 fee to participate in Try-The-Track and then you get $50 OFF the rider's school when you take it. Riders are limited to participating ONE TIME ONLY in Try-The-Track. Once you've completed a "Try the Track" event, your next step is to enroll in the full "School of Speed" track rider school if you're interested in pursuing further track experiences.
