  1. What is a track day?
A track day is a fun and rewarding experience that provides a much safer alternative to riding fast on the street. Track days are professionally organized events where you can ride your motorcycle in a controlled environment on a closed course without the hazards incumbent to riding on the street. Track days are open to street riders and do not require a racing license. There are "No Cops, No Tickets, No Speed LimitsTM". As your skills improve, you will be able to experience the full performance capabilities your sportbike was designed to deliver.

  2. Why are track days so expensive?
The cost of hosting a track day far exceeds the cost of just renting the track. For example: The expense of insurance, ambulance, corner workers, security, instructors, travel, and other staff all must be provided for. Beware of "cheap" track days organized by private individuals! They are able to offer such a cheap price because they are skimping on safety items.

  3. How does the price of TrackAddix events compare to other track day providers?
Actually if you will do a little research into other track organizations like ours, you will find that our events are priced very competitively. In some cases we are less expensive. In fact, we have many ways for you to lower your overall track day costs for the season. Our "No Session" track days are especially a bargain when you consider that other organizations charge the same fee for a 3 session format.

All TrackAddix events include safety staff! There are bargain track day events out there, but many of them do NOT pay to have an ambulance present at the track, and many of them do NOT hire corner workers. Riding sportbikes at speed is a risky business! TrackAddix ALWAYS has at least one ambulance present, and we always have corner workers to monitor the track throughout the day and provide assistance if someone crashes. As the old adage goes, "you get what you pay for".

  4. I'm interested in attending track days, how do I get started?
You first must obtain the proper riding gear and meet the technical requirements of the organization hosting the track day. Please review our list of basic requirements that must be met in order to attend a TrackAddix track day. Don't be intimidated by these requirements! The training program is usually just one day and you will learn many valuable things that will improve your riding skills.

  5. Do you offer any training programs?
Yes! Please visit our School of Speed for more information.

  6. How is a track day formatted?
There are several formats for track days. Some events involve splitting riders into 2 or 3 separate groups, called "Sessions". Riders are grouped according to their experience level and each group alternates sessions on the track.

Here at TrackAddix we also offer a unique "No Session" format at some of our events. Please read the next few FAQ's for more information on our "No Session" format.

  7. What is a "No Session" track day?
During a "No Session" track day you have the freedom to get on and off the track when you want, as often as you want. The total number of riders is limited so that there is only one group and "No Sessions". Because riders take breaks at different times, there only tends to be a fraction of the total number of riders on the track at any given time. This provides plenty of passing room and open track without being bogged down in a crowd all the time. You decide how much track time you get.

  8. What are the advantages of a "No Session" track day?
    • More track time for your money.
    • Freedom to enter and exit the track when you want to.
    • Excellent for working on your bike setup.
    • Get to ride with your friends even if they are more or less experienced than you are.
    • Not locked into riding in a certain group at a certain time.
    • No lost session when there is a crash.
    • The day is much more relaxed than a sessions day.

  9. Who can attend a "No Session" track day?
PREVIOUS TRACK TIME IS REQUIRED to attend our "No Session"events. Because of the freedoms associated with a "No Session" track day, we do require you to have previous track experience. To ensure the safety of everyone it is vital that you have a basic knowledge of the dynamics of riding on a race track vs riding on the street. This doesn't mean that you have to be a licensed racer or the fastest guy in town. If you have attended several track days or have completed a track school, we will accept you at our events. If you have any questions or concerns about your qualifications please contact us.

  10. Isn't it dangerous to mix slower riders with faster ones during a "No Session" track day?
This is a concern that has been voiced by riders who have never participated in a "No Session" track day before. Only having one group and "No Sessions" does mean that riders of all abilities are mixed together on the track at the same time. You may perceive this to be a safety problem. However, this really is a misconception.

First of all, this is not a race day and no one should be riding at 100% of their limits. Secondly, even at a "sessions" track day where you are placed in a group of similarly experienced riders, there are always riders that are faster or slower than you are within your group. And thirdly, many racing organizations mix both expert and novice racers on the track during a race at the same time.

A "No Session" track day is really no different. In fact, with a smaller number of riders on the track at any one time there is plenty of room to pass a slower rider. If you do come up on someone who is significantly slower than you are, just back off the throttle a bit, make a safe, clean, and courteous pass, and go about your business. Believe me, you are going to get plenty of track time and you will have the whole day to work on that corner.

  15. What is the Rider Track Walk all about?
During the lunch break, while the track is closed, we offer riders the opportunity to get a slower view of the track by taking them out to walk around some of the more challenging corners. Riders find it very beneficial and educational to get this close up view of the track surface and discuss lines, breaking points, and riding techniques with other riders. Sometimes we will have a TrackAddix rider turning laps to help show you the proper lines on the race track. Family and friends are welcome to come along.

  17. How will I know when an event is sold out?
We will post a message on the web site when all the slots are filled and give you an opportunity to be entered onto a waiting list. If you don't see a "Sold Out" message, there are still slots available, so go ahead and sign up.

  18. Do you charge extra if I want to bring more than one bike?
No, our admission fees are per person not per bike. If one person wants to ride more than one bike, they will only pay one admission fee. If two people want to share the same bike, each person will have to pay an admission fee.

  19. Can I ride in more than one session?
Not unless you pay for 2 track days!

  20. Do you offer any kind of refund if the weather is bad?
No! We wish we had a crystal ball to forecast the weather. We don't like to ride in the rain either, but unfortunately we still have to pay for the track even if the weather is bad and that means we can't offer any refunds. Weather is just one of those things that we all have to take our chances on. Riding while soaking wet is no fun, however riding in the rain does present you with the opportunity to work on the smoothness and throttle control that are so important to your riding skills.

  23. Will a crash end my day?
Only if your bike is not track worthy. Unlike some other track day providers, we don't end your day just because you had an off track excursion. You are free to make repairs on your bike and get back on the track.

  24. Speaking of crashing, how long will it be before I get picked up if I do go off the track?
Some of our competitors will only do a few crash pickups a day, leaving riders stranded out on the track for hours. That is absolutely unacceptable to us! We want to get you picked up and back to your pit as quickly as possible so you can start repairing your bike and salvage the rest of your track day.
